Holly Falk-Krzesinski

Title: Director, Research Team Support & Development
Biography:

As the Director of the NUCATS Office of Research Team Support (ORTS) I work with the ORTS team to reach the office’s goals of catalyzing new clinical and translational multi- and interdisciplinary research initiatives; sponsor an annual international Science of Team Science Conference; conduct, support, and disseminate research on the Science of Team Science; develop resources and tools to promote collaboration; and wokr with the NUCATS Office of Evaluation. We also consoder how to translate findings into evidence-based guidance to research teams engaging in multi- and interdisciplinary translational research.

I have successfully catalyzed and fostered a number of major cross-disciplinary, team-based translational research initiatives spanning structural genomics of infectious diseases to cancer nanotechnology to oncofertility to regenerative medicine.

I am a research assistant professor in the NUCATS Institute at the medical school and a senior lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology in the college of arts and sciences. I also teach Grantsmanship courses through the Northwestern School of Continuing Studies and conduct grantsmanship, finding funding opportunities, and CV/resume/cover letter courses and workshops as a consultant.

Recently, I partnered with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Burroughs Wellcome Fund, and Dr. Katherine Faber at Northwestern to develop and implement the Navigating the Professoriate Program, a professional development program for early career women faculty in STEM disciplines.
